Online Tutoring
Online Submissions
Having your draft read by a tutor over email is a great way to start thinking
about things that are important for any writer, like what audience you're
writing for and what a reader might need to know to understand your paper.
This kind of feedback is harder to get from teachers and classmates who
have seen your previous drafts. Even with a face to face tutor, you can
explain and clarify your writing out loud, which sometimes means problems
on the page go unaddressed. In online tutoring your draft stands on its
own.
We will do our best to respond to each submission within two business
days. But please note, depending on how many papers we are being sent,
we may take longer to get back to you, especially at the busiest times
of the semester. We thank you for your patience. If your paper is more
than eight pages, please let us know what specific parts of your paper
you would like us to look at so that we can get back to you promptly. Please
also include all of the following information at the beginning of each
submission:
- Name
- Class the paper is for
- Instructor's name
- Description of the assignment
(If possible, quote the writing prompt) - Specific questions or concerns about your paper
Submission Instructions
- Compose a new email

- Copy the document from your word processor
- Paste your document into the field box below the cover information
- Send the document to: WC_submission@listserv.csufresno.edu

Attachments: The Writing Center cannot accept attachments. In order for us to be able to handle writing from every student, computer, program, and operating system, all submissions must be in plain text in the body of your e-mail.
A Reminder: Writing Center tutors will give feedback, reactions and suggestions, but we won't edit or proofread any portion of your paper for you.
