The Department of Computer Science comprises a rich mix of students from the U.S. and foreign countries. Our faculty's interests span diverse areas in both research and practices. Specialties include: Algorithms, Big Data Analytics and Data Science, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Brain-Machine Interface, Computer Graphics, Data Mining, Game Programming, High-Performance Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, Logics, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Meta-heuristics, Parallel/Distributed Processing, Programming Languages, Software and Language Engineering, Theory of Computation, Web Technologies, and Wireless and Mobile Computing. 

For the past nearly 30 years, our alumni have been successful in both academia and industry. Some have gone on to earn PhDs at first-tier universities and become college professors; others have become professionals working at Amazon, Apple, Boeing, Cisco, Facebook, Google, HP, Microsoft, Oracle, Schneider Electric, VMWare, and other firms in Silicon Valley and Fresno. Many of our alumni use their computer-science education to pursue careers in entertainment, government, the military, health care, social work, and science.
